River
Rivers provide essential resources for humans, including drinking water, agricultural supply, hydroelectric power, sewage discharge, and recreational opportunities. Ecologically, they are vital for the growth and life cycles of plants and animals, shaping diverse terrains through erosion and sediment transport. Rivers not only sustain life but also nurture human culture, influencing spiritual beliefs and social practices. However, modern development has severely impacted river ecosystems, leading to biodiversity loss, deteriorating freshwater habitats, and increased flooding and droughts. Human interventions, such as river straightening and urban expansion, disrupt natural flow and habitat quality. This project focuses on the theme of rivers, showcasing the beauty of their natural ecology, the alterations from human activities, and the connection between rivers, people, and the environment. Through documentary photography, I aim to express the current state of rivers, highlighting the importance of water resources for everyone. Despite challenges like cloudy weather affecting lighting, my goal is to present an authentic view of rivers without embellishment.
